Nail care/After care advice
Basic nail care
-
Keep hands moisturised
-
Use a cuticle oil daily

When applying polish ALWAYS use a base coat, this prevents staining of the nail plate and prolongs and enhances your polish
-
Once a week gently push back cuticles (after using cuticle oil), and file and gently buff nails
-
Try not use too many soaps and detergents (an oil based soap is best) and try to wear rubber gloves when using chemicals and detergents
-
When using nail varnish remover use one that is acetone free
-
Keep nails at a length that it suitable and practical to your lifestyle
-
When your nails need trimming try to use an emery board to gently file down the nails going in on direction only, instead of using clippers, this is better for your nail an produces less stress for them
-
Make regular appointments with your nail technician for a professional treatment

Every two to three days apply a coat of top coat over the whole nail, this prolongs the design and keeps it looking fresh

Try not to pick at the design or varnish
Nail extention care
-
Follow the basic nail care advice

As your nails grow they may start to feel uncomfortable, if this does happen you can file them down slightly (i can show you how to do this correctly)
-
Do not try to trim the extentions down with nail clippers
-
If you decide you no longer want nail extentions do not try to remove them your self - make an appointment for this doing
-
If any come off or are damaged make an appointment for them repairing as soon as possible
-
Infils /rebalances will be required every two to three weeks make sure you keep your appointment to ensure longer lasting extentions
General aftercare advice
If you develop any sort of reaction or skin or nail condition please contact me straight away. this is very uncommon but will need to be seen. reactions are characterised by skin irritations, inflammation around the nail, redness and itching. Most nail conditions are not related to nail treatments and i will try to seek a solution to the problems but if there is any doubt i will ask you to see your gp to refer you to a dermatologist.
